This month I celebrated a birthday. I am deifnitely one of those…“Everyone break out the balloons and the cupcakes, I was born this month!! Let’s celebrate woo!” I was definitely raised to stop and be grateful for the year you had, and the year ahead.
Besides wishing for purple anything and everything, hoping to blow candles out of cupcakes only, and just feeling the love that day…what I didn’t anticipate was getting a super-fantastic package in the mail! My sister sent me a really fun birthday gift, and I had to share! Usually anything related to pampering one-self and makeup, I go crazy over. So this gift was just…perfect.
Philosophy makes this adorable vintage makeup bag for “the birthday girl”. Before I unzipped the perfectly packaged bag, I noticed a beautiful quote on the back-side. I am a sucker for inspirational quotes, and this was something I wanted to share…
I’m pretty sure this makeup bag brought a tear to my eye (ok, it did). So anyway, I unzipped the bag to find these amazing treats inside! Look at them! They’re beautiful!
The best part, and the first thing I used was the lip gloss…of course. The color is a perfect every-day hue, and um, tastes like cake?!? What the? Why do they do that to me, really?! Because every time I apply that lipgloss I imagine taking a bite out of a deliciously sprinkled vanilla cupcake with purple butter cream frosting…but then I open my eyes and to my dismay I’ve licked off all the gloss and need to reapply, once again. But, I do love the way it shines and smells, and makes my lips smooth and glossified…and for that, I just love it. The rest of the products consist of amazing-smelling hand and foot creams, a really wonderful face wash that leaves my skin feeling flawless, and a shampoo/body wash that smells like I layed in a field of flowers just before heading into work for the day.
I may be one year older, but my skin and lips are certainly glowing now, thanks to my sister and her thoughtful gift…
